Hey Ryan, I have a question for you that might be of general interest for the FxA team. Nick Chapman created this issue for Idea Town which calls for letting users “delete their Idea Town account” [1]. I assume what’s meant by this is something like: “as a user, i would like to terminate my relationship with Idea Town such that any data I have exchanged with Idea Town can no longer be associated with me in any way.”
Importantly, this is service specific and does not mean “I want to delete my Firefox Account.” Since we will transact considerable data about users, letting users opt out of their relationships with Idea Town seems totally reasonable and inline with Mozilla's principles. The problem here is semantic: using language like “delete my account” or “delete my Idea Town account” is woefully inaccurate. So my question for you is this: if we were to make some UI to allow users to terminate their relationship with Idea Town, what language would you recommend? What is the concise, user-friendly way of saying “please disassociate me from Idea Town”? Thoughts?
