Semi-related, but I vaguely recall some conversations between bwarner (gone), mmc (gone), Yvan B, ckarlof, and a few others about 2FA in FxA/Identity which started around 12-16 months ago. I wasn't able to find any wikis or concrete emails/notes on that, so either I suck at searching, or I lost some emails in the Great Zimbra Migration of 2015. Any chance somebody remembers if we took 2FA notes from those early 2FA meetings?
