Hi Shane,
The code that generates the data is here:
https://github.com/mozilla-services/puppet-config/blob/master/shared/modules/fxa/files/hekad/lua_filters/fxa_content_signup_metrics.lua
The dashboard code is here:
https://github.com/mozilla/accounts-dashboard/blob/master/js/flow.js
Note on the not-so-great terminology...
- The "intent" count is meant to be "number of people we think are
starting the create flow and not the signup flow"
- The "engage" count is meant to be "number of people who were trying to
create accounts and took some kind of action"
- "bounce rate" is then % of people who start the create flow but do not
engage with the ux at all.
We may want to revisit it, IIRC you've added some events since we did
this first pass. We might be able to improve both how we count
"engaging" with the UX and the denominator (who we're counting as part
of the signup flow). We could also improve the terminology -- "intent"
is confusing.
If you guys are finding this dashboard useful (or almost useful) and
high priority, I'm up for spending some cycles helping you on the next
iteration.
Cheers,
Katie

Hi Katie,
Ryan Feeley is considering several different flows to be used for "email
opt-in" [1]. He would like to measure whether any of his designs have an
effect on sign-up bounce rate and asked how bounce rate is currently
measured.
I remember the measurement was more complicated than expected, but I
forget what we finally settled on. Do you have that info anywhere?
Thanks,
Shane
