Sounds like a rabbit-hole.

What even is "marketplace" on android? Is it web content that we need
to expose the identity to via a DOM API? Is it a privileged app that
can talk to the FxA account doohickey on your phone? Both, or neither?

And how similar is "Marketplace on android" to "Marketplace on
FirefoxOS" from this perspective?

(ugh, this thread has made it clear to me that I'm too out of the loop
on too many of these things, I've got some remedial wiki/bug reading to
do...)

This, at least in one sense, is easy.

If it's pulling updates from marketplace.firefox.com, it needs to use
the identity from accounts.firefox.com. Somehow. Nothing else will do.

How it knows to install and/or update from marketplace.firefox.com in
the first place is, of course, another question.

With FF29 out the door, do we have a little bit of headroom to consider
the oft-proposed "service discovery service" and how it might untangle
some of this?
