No requirement in the UK for CBS. It would definitely make sense to use
MCC and enable for required countries.

can find in Messaging Settings (Settings app) being enabled by default.
I get "Channel 220" and the message "020" in mine which is the region
dialing code for London where I am. My prior research shows it is
something to do with changing region.
The annoying thing about this is that it's popping up as a javascript
alert rather than being just displayed somewhere discrete.
Thanks for your response! O2 is my provider too. I have deactivated the
described cell info messages and will report if this fixes the problem
for me. Is there anything useful that I'd miss out on?
