No, Firefox OS use a minimal Linux kernel to access the hardware but you do
not have the minimal requirement for having such application running. For
example, there is no X server running on Firefox OS (the graphical stack in
100% handled by the Gecko engine). To write an application of your own, no
problem, but it must be using the web technological stack (HTML, CSS and
JavaScript at minimum)
