Well, it's not that bad, really. You cannot use it (easily at least) to
hack Gaia/write new certified apps but you can use it to develop hosted
apps, and packaged ones both privileged and unprivileged. Sideloading
the apps through the emulator should work (to be honest, I haven't
actually tried it). So... you cannot use it to work on the operating
system/core apps, but you can do your own apps (which are the kind of
apps that you can actually distribute or sell) with this phone.

Hm, interesting. I'm new to Firefox OS and I thought there is more to Gaia then 
the apps themselves.

I'll try to get rid of this phone and get a proper development phone, and if I 
don't manage to to that I might as well root it and try to work the best with 
what I got.
