Which is a brilliant segue to: "What are CC and CXX influencing and how do I 
tell the build system to use my particular cross (target) compiler?"

Also, it relates back to the (possibly) more important question about the 
relationships between Android version and what B2G v1-train is built against.  
Please forgive my ignorance.
