I vote 2 as well, extends the time it takes to solve the cases as well. The 
only way I'd vote 1 is if in the testing we do, the kids show that they have a 
lot of trouble documenting the clues themselves for some reason.

I vote 2.  I think 1 makes the game too easy and encourages random clicking 
without thinking about their actions, since it will all be given to them.
