Hi Nicholas, and thank you for your report. It would be useful to get an idea of the startup time values you are seeing for Software Center on your machine. Could you please open a terminal and start Software Center with the following switch as shown?:
$ software-center --measure-startup-time In the terminal output, please cut and paste the following two values into this report (the values shown are for my machine): ** main window visible after: 1.25009989738 seconds ** main window fully ready after: 3.56165599823 seconds We have sped up startup time quite a bit during the Precise cycle, but there's always room for improvement and we plan to do more work in the area in the next few weeks. It will be helpful to have objective data for different machines as we do this. Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated!
