If the fix has been released upstream, but not Ubuntu, create a new bug asking for the new version and tag it with upgrade-software-version. There's no error or warning messages, even invoked with --debug option. It simply doesn't play. I've gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad, gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly installed.
