see if the same issue appears there as well. Also if possible please try
to boot the latest LiveCD of Ubuntu 12.04 and check if the issue happens
there.

Hi,
I have a weird issue with dash
1. Open dash (clicking on the ubuntu icon)
2. Search for example: gedit
3. Got no result at all but when I hit enter, gedit opens.
I'm on Ubuntu 12.04 beta.
