Public bug reported: TO REPRODUCE: 1. All Settings -> Keyboard -> Layout Settings -> Options...: 2. Numeric keypad layout selection -> ATM/phone-style 3. Click "Close" 4. Close the window.
Launch a Terminal: Note that pressing "789" on the numpad does not result in "123". (standard US keyboard). FURTHER NOTES: I have also been having trouble with CapsLock -> Ctrl in a copy of the 12.04 alpha (updated moments ago), but I could not reproduce in the daily builds for today. (I tested using basic keychains like Ctrl-A or Ctrl-E etc. using the Caps Lock key instead of Ctrl in the Terminal). Reproduce as above, except also: Change Ctrl key position -> Caps Lock as Ctrl. TESTING RESULTS FROM VARIOUS RELEASES: Numpad & Caps Lock -> Ctrl both work fine in Ubuntu 11.10 x86: uname -a: Linux 3.0.0-16-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 27 17:50:54 UTC 2012 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux Neither work in: ubuntu 12.04 alpha x64 - fully updated: uname -a Linux 3.2.0-17-generic #27-Ubuntu SMP Fri Feb 24 15:37:36 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Caps Lock -> Ctrl works, but the numpad does not in: 12.04 alpha x86 daily build for 2/26/2012 12.04 alpha x64 daily build for 2/26/2012 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: gnome-control-center 1:3.3.90-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-17.27-generic 3.2.6 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-17-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx ApportVersion: 1.93-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Feb 26 19:06:03 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/gnome-control-center InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Alpha amd64 (20120201.1) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-control-center UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-02-25 (1 days ago) usr_lib_gnome-control-center: activity-log-manager-control-center 0.9.2-0ubuntu2 deja-dup 21.90-0ubuntu1 gnome-bluetooth 3.2.2-0ubuntu2 indicator-datetime 0.3.90-0ubuntu1 ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/941718 Title: Some Keyboard Layout Options not working in 12.04 Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: TO REPRODUCE: 1.
