I confirm Dan's words that it is still not default for firefox 10.0.2 on opensuse 11.2 64bit.

This does not operate as expected in Firefox. Pressing Ctrl-Backspace in the URL field erases the entire URL. To fix this, layout.word_select.stop_at_punctuation should be set to true in the default configuration. Firefox is then consistent with the rest of the desktop.
