Thank you for documenting that - I concur. With that, FFe granted. Please go ahead with the upload. But please do that ASAP and not during the release week. :) ** Changed in: adsys (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to adsys in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2104369 Title: [FFE] Release adsys 0.16.3 Status in adsys package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: ## FFE ## Version 0.16.3 of adsys contains bug fixes that customers requested and are already in use through PPAs. To avoid having users rely on PPAs as their source (and also avoid having multiple versions throughout PPAs), we'd like to request a FFE for this release. One of the bug fixes is related to certificate autoenrollment, and it's required for autoenrollment to work in some customers' environments. More details can be seen at [1]. The other fix is related to adsys' GPO parsing capabilities. Some customers reported that adsys was failing to apply some (very) large group policy files, and this was due to a buffer going out of space if the entry was too large. More details are in [2] and [3]. Even though bug fixes don't need a FFE, we'd also like to keep the version present in the archive (of the current Ubuntu release) to be in sync with the latest tagged release in the adsys repository. Since most of its users come from a Windows background, they aren't familiar with d/changelogs and our way of releasing packages to Ubuntu, so keeping a standardized version across the repo and the archive is very helpful. This means that we want to release a new upstream version (i.e. 0.16.3), and with that comes along some dependency bumps and documentation improvements that are well tested and checked within our CI and package tests, hence the FFE. Adsys is a supported package, which means this release wouldn't impact Plucky's iso at all. Also, this is an enterprise-focused package, so it's very unlikely that any of its users would be running an interim release (and most of adsys' features require an active Pro subscription). Here's the full changelog for the release: adsys (0.16.3) plucky; urgency=medium * New upstream release * Bump Go toolchain version to 1.23.6 * Fix URL for certificate enrollment and some bad references in the enrollment code * Resize buffer to parse very large GPOs * Add corpus to fuzz tests to increase their precision * Improvements to docs - Add ref glossary - Change spelling to US - Home and landing pages refresh * Bump dependencies to latest: - github.com/charmbracelet/bubbletea - github.com/charmbracelet/glamour - github.com/charmbracelet/lipgloss - github.com/pkg/sftp - github.com/spf13/cobra - golang.org/x/net - golang.org/x/text - google.golang.org/grpc - google.golang.org/protobuf - github.com/golangci/golangci-lint - canonical/has-signed-canonical-cla - jidicula/clang-format-action Builds can be checked at: https://launchpad.net/~justdenis/+archive/ubuntu/adsys/+packages [1]: https://github.com/ubuntu/adsys/pull/1223 [2]: https://github.com/ubuntu/adsys/issues/1191 [3]: https://github.com/ubuntu/adsys/pull/1230 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/adsys/+bug/2104369/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
