Public bug reported: After turning the screen reader off, orca tries to shutdown but enters a busy-loop pinning one CPU core at 100%.
After that happens, trying to turn the screen reader on again has no effect. One must send `pkill -KILL orca` to terminate the process and regain the screen reader functionality. ** Affects: at-spi2-core (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Alessandro Astone (aleasto) Status: In Progress ** Changed in: at-spi2-core (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: at-spi2-core (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Alessandro Astone (aleasto) ** Changed in: at-spi2-core (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to at-spi2-core in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2104283 Title: orca screen reader cannot be turned off and on again Status in at-spi2-core package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: After turning the screen reader off, orca tries to shutdown but enters a busy-loop pinning one CPU core at 100%.
