Public bug reported: Whenever I turn my laptop on and my bluetooth is enabled I receive alerts that "Unable to connect to Network" repetitively after five minutes interval until I turn my tether off.
Here is the relevant part of dmesg logs: ``` [ 373.585487] bluetooth hci0:51 enx90e8682c0cf2: renamed from bnep0 (while UP) [ 373.773254] bluetooth hci0:51 enx90e8682c0cf2: renamed from bnep0 (while UP) [ 373.890057] bluetooth hci0:51 enx90e8682c0cf2: renamed from bnep0 (while UP) [ 374.066965] bluetooth hci0:51 enx90e8682c0cf2: renamed from bnep0 (while UP) [ 676.026083] bluetooth hci0:51 enx90e8682c0cf2: renamed from bnep0 (while UP) [ 676.193623] bluetooth hci0:51 enx90e8682c0cf2: renamed from bnep0 (while UP) [ 676.348782] bluetooth hci0:51 enx90e8682c0cf2: renamed from bnep0 (while UP) [ 676.580725] bluetooth hci0:51 enx90e8682c0cf2: renamed from bnep0 (while UP) ``` I will provide complete dmesg log if needed but will have much unrelated noise as well. 1) Here is the output of lsb_release -rd ``` [kunal@shul ~]$ lsb_release -rd No LSB modules are available. Description: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS Release: 24.04 ``` 2) These are the package details. ``` [kunal@shul ~]$ apt-cache policy bluez bluez: Installed: 5.72-0ubuntu5.1 Candidate: 5.72-0ubuntu5.1 Version table: *** 5.72-0ubuntu5.1 500 500 http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu noble-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 5.72-0ubuntu5 500 500 http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu noble/main amd64 Packages ``` 3) What I expect to happen is that it does not give such alerts repetitively. 4) I recieved repetitive alerts till I turned of alert or bluetooth. ** Affects: bluez (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: noble -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2104240 Title: Tether gives failure notifications on udev induced bluetooth device name change Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Whenever I turn my laptop on and my bluetooth is enabled I receive alerts that "Unable to connect to Network" repetitively after five minutes interval until I turn my tether off.
