Here is the output of journalctl. Also, I was unable to use `apport- collect` because of a tls error.
ERROR: connecting to Launchpad failed: [SSL: TLSV1_ALERT_PROTOCOL_VERSION] tlsv1 alert protocol version (_ssl.c:852) But, as you can see, the issue is pretty obvious and there are not obvious errors in the logs. The system seems to think that the windows launched, but they are just not visible. It does seem like the windows are open, but just not in a visible area on the screen. ** Attachment added: "journal.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/2101897/+attachment/5864051/+files/journal.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2101897 Title: no windows open in Xorg after latest esm update Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I am running Ubuntu Bionic 18.04 with esm support with the default Gnome desktop.
