I should have mentioned that plover supports several connection options. The
one most in use is Gemini PR.
It has an option to use the laptop keyboard, but this is useless because in
steno, you have to depress several keys at once to form a word.

Title:
  qtwayland does not support QWindow::requestActivate()

Status in xwayland package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I am trying to run the program "plover," which allows steno typing
  using a dedicated keyboard. The program works in ubuntu-org but not
  with wayland.

  The program opens but does not recognize the keyboard properly, with
  the above error.

  Packages are probably xwayland and qtwayland but I could not find a
  package for qtwayland.
