Public bug reported: Until updating to 24.04.1 LTS, the microphone included in my headphones was recognized just fine in this laptop, for about 3 years. As of recently, the Sound settings only ever lists the internal laptop microphone as the one available when I plug the 3.5 mm jack of the audio cable leading to my headphones.
