journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt journalctl -b-2 > prevprevboot.txt and attach the resulting text files here. ** Changed in: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Tags added: regression-update ** Package changed: gdm3 (Ubuntu) => linux-hwe-6.8 (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2086469 Title: GDM Fails to load after Update Status in linux-hwe-6.8 package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Using ubuntu 22.04 I have had a few users report that GDM is failing to load(no login prompt either) after updates. Upon investigating after the update to the new kernel Linux 6.8.0-48-generic, GDM is failing to load. Reinstall failed systemctl status reporting all is running as it should be. After booting up with older kernel 6.8.0-47-generic GDM loaded as it should.
