Hitting "send" does not do anything

Bug description:
Somethings, when I hit "send", nothing happens. No error, nothing.
Even if I run thunderbird in the terminal, I see no message or
anything after pressing the "send" button.
I have to save the draft, close thunderbird AND `pkill -f
thunderbird`, then open thunderbird and the draft. Then, senting
usually works.
