I observed the same problem after upgrading to Ubuntu 24.10, also on the Nvidia 560 driver.
What's interesting is that running 'sudo nautilus' doesn't produce the X Error and successfully launches nautilus. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2084309 Title: Nautilus crashes on startup in 24.10 Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I upgraded from 24.04 to 24.10, and now nautilus crashes under X11 with the following output: ** Message: 21:24:43.209: Connecting to org.freedesktop.Tracker3.Miner.Files GSConnect: [Errno 2] No translation file found for domain: 'org.gnome.Shell.Extensions.GSConnect' MESA-INTEL: warning: ../src/intel/vulkan/anv_formats.c:763: FINISHME: support YUV colorspace with DRM format modifiers MESA-INTEL: warning: ../src/intel/vulkan/anv_formats.c:794: FINISHME: support more multi-planar formats with DRM modifiers (org.gnome.Nautilus:163926): Gdk-WARNING **: 21:24:43.978: The program 'org.gnome.Nautilus' received an X Window System error. To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment variable to change this behavior.
