This is certainly not update-manager, maybe not gnome-shell either, but
in any case there is too little information in the bug report. We need
at least your hardware (lspci), the release you were using, the release
you are on now (lsb_release -c).

  after updating , brightness is not working

Bug description:
  i updated my laptop after finishing the update , the brightness is not working
  brightness of screen is very high and i am not able to down the screen 
brightness
