I used Thunderbird for many years but grudgingly switched to Evolution
awhile back because of this issue.   IMHO, contacts and calendar sync
should be considered an essential, core functionality for any
application that manages contacts and calendars.  Evolution's user
interface is clunky as heck, but at least I don't have to pull out my
phone every time I want to look up an email address.

Supernova looks great, but I think it's time to seriously focus
developer attention on this issue.  It's really way past due.  If
someone on the Mozilla team wanted to create fundraiser specifically
earmarked for the development costs of implementing this feature, I'd
happily contribute to that.
