I opened Disks (gnome-disks) and it sees all my drives, but it won't show SMART stats on my NVME drive (Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB). The SMART menu item is greyed out. It works fine on other drives. The NVME has SMART support; it works fine with smartctl -a /dev/nvme0n1 for example. (Though smartctl is not in this live ISO, I have apt-get installed it at another time and tried it; and it works fine in the Ubuntu 18.04 that is installed on this machine.) I've attached a screencast showing the failure.
