@slalomsk8er, I'm not disagreeing with snap's shortcomings, I'm just providing alternatives for anyone who's run into such issues. There is now also the option of getting stable builds in .deb form from the MozillaTeam (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam) PPA at https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/ubuntu/ppa There are many guides about how best to use it and ensure you receive automatic updates.
They have been providing ESR builds for some time, but recently added stable packages.
