Public bug reported:

gnome-terminal no longer lists italic fonts and struggles with profiles which
had italic font set.
On Ubuntu 20.04 I had Fantasque Sans Mono Italic as my font in gnome-terminal
profile. On upgrade to 22.04, it reverted to regular font and I was unable
select the italic font because it's no longer an listed.
Selecting another font and then switching back to Fantasque Sans Mono causes
gnome-terminal to crash. As a work around, I cleared ~/.local/share/fonts and
only left ~/.local/share/fonts/FantasqueSansMono-Italic.otf, that gives me the
italic font back in my terminal but it would be nice if it just functioned as
before.

I'm using the OTF fonts from https://github.com/belluzj/fantasque-
sans/releases/download/v1.8.0/FantasqueSansMono-Normal.tar.gz
