As pointed out on the Lubuntu discourse, the icon on your desktop was
very probably a manual copy of the desktop file that is generated by
snapd. You'll have better luck by making it a symlink to that desktop
file, instead of a copy.

Title:
Firefox SNAP update removes icon from desktop
Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Firefox SNAP updated from 102.0 to 102.0.1 today, resulting in the
desktop icon disappearing, because the firefox_firefox.desktop file
"icon=" line then points to a now non-existent directory.
