Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: By depends I mean one of Suggests/Recommends/Depends. Currently, with no other changes, I'd say you need Depends. Thus I think you should change part of your package to accommodate for systems that don't have whoopsie installed. /etc/dbus-1/system.d/org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.conf:91: <policy user="whoopsie"> This leads to... arcadia:~# cat /var/log/upstart/dbus.log Unknown username "whoopsie" in message bus configuration file It's not an error and it doesn't break anything, but it should be easy for you to change things a little. One option is to create this user, though I'd coordinate that with the whoopsie developer. A perhaps better solution is to split this configuration out so that is will only be included if/when whoopsie is installed or the whoopsie user is available. Thank you.
