I don't get the effect of "close settings dialog; cursor changes to larger/largest" it stays "normal" and this isn't comfortable on my current display (can't find the little rascal).
I use Jammy on an HDMI display primary, laptop lid closed and haven't tested whether the primary laptop display has the same problem.
