Thanks, so yes it seems the session is going away without error logged
there, it would probably require someone from the Ubuntu MATE team to
provide hints on how to increase the session debugging level.

One other thing worth trying is to attach gdb to the Xorg server from a
ssh connection and see if that one is going away or hitting a crash

  Session restarts when opening Pluma or GitHub link in browser

Bug description:
  From a fresh install with Ubuntu Mate 22.04, do:

  1. Login into your user with password.
  2. Open Firefox.
  3. Enter "https://github.com/pimlie/ubuntu-mainline-kernel.sh"; at URL address.
  4. GUI will reset and go back to login screen like started a new session.

  This also happens when I tried with opening a '.log' with Pluma.

  I've tried a lot of things at other installation to tackle this problem, but 
I couldn't solve the problem.
