Public bug reported: Distribution: Ubuntu Budgie 22.04 LTS Kernel: 5.15.0-1007-raspi Package: libmutter-10-0 Architecture: arm64 Version: 42.0-3ubuntu2 5.15.0-1007-raspi
On Ubuntu Budgie 22.04 LTS raspberry PI, turning on fractional scaling causes an issue where mouse movement becomes laggy and hard to control. This persists even if a reboot is performed after changing scaling settings. This was tested on Raspberry PI 4 8GB with 3 different mice. 2 USB wired, and one wireless with USB dongle. Same results with 3 mice. Disabling fractional scaling immediately solved the problem. Same tests were performed on Ubuntu Budgie 22.04 on amd64 laptop, with Intel CPU and Nvidia+Intel GPU. There was no issue with mouse performance on amd64 laptop.
