Public bug reported: Recently Qt changed the default platform plugin from XWayland to Wayland (in Qt 6.2.2).
When I've updated Telegram Desktop appplication to use Qt 6.2.2 there were a lot of reports that the app became unusable on Ubuntu 20.04 Wayland, like this one: https://github.com/telegramdesktop/tdesktop/issues/17468 I had to revert to XWayland by default in Telegram, but it would be nice to fix the bug and allow to switch back to Wayland. This is the bug report in Mutter: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/199 It was fixed, I believe this was the fix: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/431 I think this fix (and all related, if there are more) should be backported to Ubuntu 20.04. Thanks. ** Affects: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1956343 Title: Flickering in Qt6 apps on Wayland Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Recently Qt changed the default platform plugin from XWayland to Wayland (in Qt 6.2.2).
