Now, for some reason the link to the release notes http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes?os=ubuntu&ver=21.10&lang=${LANG} is opened with gedit. Desktop files for both gedit and firefox show correct values for MimeType, however, xdg-mime query default text/xml outputs org.gnome.gedit.desktop I will attach relevant files here in a moment and will also look through its code.
