Public bug reported: At boot, the Line Out Green Rear is replaced by Digital Output (SP/DIF)
Issuing the command, systemctl --user restart pulseaudio restores Line Out, which then works correctly. There have been some instances when the issue returns after running an audio program such as Reaper (DAW) or Audacity. I obtained the work-around from Kubuntu Forums where there are several similar reports from users of Kubuntu 20.10..
