The touchpads on Legion-5 could be saved by either polling (#179) or interrupt (#171). I've submitted both patches upstream for these two methods. After getting reviewed by the kernel developer community, I will keep improving them until these patches get accepted by the maintainer. I would suggest you try #171 before the patches getting merged into the mainline kernel.
