Title:
  crash after panel_profile_background_change_notify

Status in mate-panel package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The Mate panel in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Mate alpha1 is a bit buggy.
  1. Selecting the plugin Advanced Mate menu does not work (There is also no
icon shown when selecting this menu in the panel)
-When the Advanced Mate menu is added to the panel just a fullstop is shown
on the panel, which can't be removed afterwards.
  2. Changing the Mate panel layout with the Mate tweak application causes
SIGSEGV
-I tried changing to opensuse layout -> SIGSEGV
