While there are workarounds for this, I don't see any indication that
this is fixed in Ubuntu.

Bug description:
I’m trying to scan with my new printer Hp LaserJet MFP M28-M31 but I
always get this error when scanning using SANE:
error: SANE: Error during device I/O (code=9)
I’ve installed hplip hplip-plugins and any other dependencies listed
in hp-check but without luck.
any hints?
