Public bug reported: When I was dragging around the discord icon around, Gnome froze and the icon remained in place. This was happening when I was compiling gettext and it was using memory. However, even after the compilation stopped and the memory went down, Gnome keeps the icons in place, refusing to finish what it started. In this state, the Grid button on the bottom has no effect, and clicking on the icons have no effect, though they will update when a new program launches or closes, and if a new window opens.
I expect the Gnome Shell to become responsive once the memory has gone down. It has enough memory to finish the animations; it just won't finish them.
