* If you have any gnome-shell extensions installed, please uninstall
those and reboot.

* Is your keyboard wireless?

* Is Terminal the only app affected? I have noticed similar issues in
Terminal myself.

Title:
  Gnome ignores key presses for minutes after I wake up my laptop

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  However, clicks are processed without issue. This causes me to wait
  and type until my text went into the terminal, and the cursor square
  on the terminal kept being clear instead of white. Almost a full
  minute after I sign back in does ubuntu start processing and inputting
  my text.
