This the error message I got. E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run
'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
Then I opened a command window....."geoffrey@geoffrey-X58A-UD3R:~$ sudo
