Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. From yesterday onwards, Timekpr is not opening. Upon investigation, found the below errors / messages in logs: pkexec: Error checking for authorization com.ubuntu.timekpr.pkexec: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message recipient disconnected from message bus without replying It is followed by Gnome shell messages: PolicyKit daemon reconnected to bus. Attempting to re-register as an authentication agent. We are now a registered authentication agent. Appreciate any help. 1. Description: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS Release: 18.04 2. https://launchpad.net/timekpr 3. Expect the time keeper control panel to open up 4. Nothing happens on screen. Same is the issue with User accounts as well. To change password of user, by clicking on the unlock icon at top in useers screen, nothing happens. Both the applications are looking for root access, via a GUI based application.
