Doesn't it conflict with the build it lock screen? or are you talking
about the GNOME lock screen?

I am creating a new bug for gnome-shell as several users experience
the dock to be ontop
My case the dock stays ontop of Xscreensaver, but only at random times
i cannot reproduce when
