Feature added, probably some time ago.

In Firefox 70 the 'Set Desktop Background' drop-down has options:
Centre, Tile, Stretch, Fill, Fit and Span
Span doesn't work too well here. Probably due to monitors being of
different sizes and resolutions.

Closing as fixed.

Title:
Set Desktop Background Position should include 'spanned' option

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: firefox

With dual head systems you can set background images to 'spanned'
which causes an extra wide image to be split with half on one monitor
and half on the other. This option is available in Appearance
Preferences in the Style dropdown (along with Tile, Zoom, Scale,
  Center, Stretch.)

In Firefox the context menu over an image allows 'Set Desktop
Background'. This also has a 'Position' dropdown (which probably
should be renamed 'Style' to match Appearance Preferences), but it
only shows the options Tile, Center, and Stretch.
