Lately, whenever the process is running (even for desktop handling, not just the file manager), it will slowly grow and become a memory-eatin- machine. Today, I left my computer locked and on, and when I got home it was taking 3.4GB!!! I have a feeling this has to do with the desktop handler, since it happens without a nautilus window open. I do use Variety, a memory-hungry wallpaper slide-show, but it only takes 60-100MB.
