Is the workaround I am currently using.
I'm not using any non-default extensions.
indicator-application is not installed.
pidof gnome-shell && killall -3 gnome-shell && sleep 10 && pidof gnome-shell

Workaround: Alt+F2 followed by 'r' - Turns on the extensions which I had on
