Title:
Error message when i try to edit and save a conf-files using gedit

Status in gedit package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Hi!
I have tried to install and configure both netatalk and vsftpd to get it to
work with my mac. The installation process is no problem but when i try to
tweak the settings a bit using (sudo gedit /etc...) to configure the conf-files
I get an error message when I try to save the file, like this:

** (gedit:8709): WARNING **: Set document metadata failed: Setting the
attribute metadata :: gedit spell- enabled is not supported

** (gedit:8709): WARNING **: Set document metadata failed: Setting the
attribute metadata :: gedit-encoding is not supported

** (gedit:8709): WARNING **: Set document metadata failed: Setting the
attribute metadata :: gedit-position is not supported

I have tried to edit conf-files in two different programs so I
realised that it must be a bug in gedit.
