Due to bad interactions with gdm (namely gnome shell process under gdm
user consuming a whole logical core), I had to move to lightdm. I will
try with it and report back.

Title:
After recent update, still cannot switch to intel mode

Status in nvidia-prime package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
If I try to switch to intel mode on my Zenbook Pro UX550 and then reboot, I
end up without a graphical session. GDM does not start even if it seems to be
trying to for many times. I see a systemd message that the dGPU could not be
switched off. Also, I get a flickery screen on TTYs until GDM gives up with the
screen alternating between the TTY and the systemd textual log. Once that stops
flashing I manage to prime-select nvidia and reboot cleanly. This is certianly
better than before the update but it does not fix the situation fully. I am
using bionic with all updates applied.
