I have this bug intermittently too on 11.10. Any known workarounds? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/831341
Title: can't open empathy chat windows Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: as of relatively recently in oneiric, empathy chat dialogs no longer open. double clicking a contact in the contact list opens a gnome-shell message tray bubble, but clicking on that bubble doesn't open an empathy chat dialog. there appears to be no way to enter a group chat, and clicking on room -> group chat name does nothing.
